Talk to the People Who Will Build Your Kitchen

Most kitchen projects go wrong in the same two places: a price that moves once the cabinets are out, and a crew that changes every week. We quote a fixed written number before demolition starts, and the people who begin your kitchen are the people who finish it.

Tell us which kitchen is bothering you and we will come look at it, talk through what is realistic for your budget, and leave a written number in your hands. No charge and no obligation.

    Kitchen Questions Homeowners Ask

Before You Call Anyone, Read This

For a full remodel, plan on being out of the room for several weeks rather than several days, with the longest stretch between demolition and the counter template. Cabinets and counters are the two items that set the schedule, so we order them before we start rather than after. You get the dates in writing with the proposal.

If the boxes are solid, square and the layout already works, refacing gets you a new kitchen for less. If the layout is the problem, or the boxes are particleboard that has taken water, replacing is the honest answer. We will tell you which one you have when we look at them.

Yes. Moving plumbing and gas costs more than moving cabinets, and taking out a wall means we first work out whether it is carrying load. All of that gets priced before anything is opened up, so a layout change is a decision you make with a number in front of you.

Quartz is the low-maintenance choice and needs no sealing. Granite gives you natural variation and wants sealing now and then. Solid surface is the value option and repairs well. All three are templated after the cabinets are set, which is why the template date sits where it does in the schedule.

Either way works, but we need the actual model numbers early because cabinet openings, venting and electrical are built around them. Buying late is one of the most common causes of a kitchen sitting unfinished waiting on a delivery.

A cosmetic refresh usually does not. Moving plumbing or gas, adding circuits or removing a wall usually does. We pull whatever the work requires and schedule the inspections, so it is never something you have to chase.

The work zone gets sealed off, floors along the path get covered, and the site is swept every evening. Kitchen demolition is the dustiest day of the project and it is the day we set up for most carefully.

It depends on whether the cabinets are new or refaced, whether anything moves, and what the counters are. We will not guess over the phone. We come out, look at the room, and leave a fixed written price. The visit is free and there is no obligation.

    Cooking

A Kitchen That Cooks the Way You Do

Where the range sits decides how the whole room works. We put landing space on both sides of it so a hot pan has somewhere to go, run ventilation that actually clears steam instead of moving it around, and keep pots and pans within one step of the burner.

If two of you cook at the same time, we plan for that. The path from fridge to sink to range stops crossing itself, so nobody is reaching past anybody.

    Prepping

Prep Space Where You Actually Stand

Most kitchens have plenty of counter and none of it in the right place. We give you an uninterrupted run beside the sink for chopping, an island deep enough to work at without knocking things off the back, and outlets on it so the mixer is not stretched across the room.

Boards, knives and bowls get stored at the point of use, and the lighting sits in front of you rather than behind, so you are not working in your own shadow.

    Washing and Cleanup

Cleanup That Takes Minutes, Not the Evening

The sink and the dishwasher belong next to each other, with a clear stretch of counter on one side for stacking and a spot on the other for drying. A deeper basin hides a roasting pan instead of advertising it.

Bins go where you scrape plates, not across the room. Surfaces are chosen so a spill wipes off rather than staining, which matters more on a Tuesday than it does in a showroom.

    Home Value

    The Room Buyers Judge First

Around Birmingham a dated kitchen sets the ceiling on what the rest of the house can ask, however good the rest of it is. Buyers walk in, price the work they think they will have to do, and take it off their offer.

We build so that does not happen to you. Work that needs a permit gets one, the scope is written down, and you keep the paperwork. When you come to sell, the kitchen reads as finished rather than as somebody elses project.
